CONSIDERED FACTORS
Risk factors considered include, but are not limited to:
- Nature and severity of the violation, including but not limited to:
- Use of a weapon
- Use of force
- Use of coercion
- Amount of substance used or present (for substance use violations)
- Impact on the community, including but not limited to:
- Extent of physical or emotional harm caused
- Potential for physical or emotional harm
- Past contact with the Center for Community Standards, including past educational remedies assigned
- Need for protection of the community
- Need for protection of the respondent
- Institutional Precedent
Extenuating factors considered include, but are not limited to:
- Demonstration of understanding by the respondent
- Documented behavior change
- Circumstances leading to the behavior (such as death in the family, mental health crisis, fundamental needs issue, etc.)
- Disparate impact of the outcome on the respondent
